C.H.E.F. Report - Health Promotion for Older Adults in Public Housing
As part of the work WA State Aging and Disability Services Administration is doing to disseminate CDSMP and other evidence-based health promotion practices, ADSA contracted with the Comprehensive Health Education Foundation (CHEF) to identify components of an effective CDSMP implementation strategy for older adults in publicly supported housing. CHEF conducted focus groups with older adults living in Housing Authority properties in Spokane, Tacoma, Walla Walla, and Vancouver. The findings from those focus groups and conversations with Housing Authority staff are included in this report, as well as recommendations to successfully implement programs with housing authority residents.

Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2010
On January 31, 2011, the Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack and the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius announced the release of the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, the federal government’s evidence-based guidance to promote health, reduce the risk of chronic diseases, and reduce the prevalence of overweight and obesity through improved nutrition and physical activity.
